Who We Are

PhotoShowerCurtain.com manufactures and markets a unique line of fabric shower curtains using our customer's photographic images. Quality fabrics and state of the art digital imaging yield curtains with realistic durable images that don't change the feel of the fabric. All can be laundered with no fading or shrinkage. When paired with a good image they provide a lifetime of enjoyment.

Many people create a bathroom mural using a favorite vacation scene or an image of a loved one or pet to provide more smiles in the bathroom. Decorators, photographers, and artists enjoy the creative freedom and enjoy seeing their creations reproduced in such a large and vibrant format. Hotels and other institutions use them to set themselves apart from competitors and make an emotional connection with their customer.

Do you share my customer information?

Yes, but we do not sell or rent it. When you purchase curtains, enter contests or request information, we share your information with third parties to fulfill your request. We share it with agents, consultants and various companies we employ to operate and improve our business. We share it with law enforcement in connection with investigations of illegal activity. If we are acquired or merged into another company we would share your information. Please review our Privacy Policy for further details.

Why should I order?

Because our curtains are fun and unique! Because you are tired of the same old shower curtain designs! Because you or someone you love has a very special photograph.

Now it can be enjoyed every day by decorating your bath with a shower curtain no one else has! It will be noticed and appreciated far more than a framed photo ever will. And what a unique gift! Grandparents love anything with their grandchildren pictured and everyone loves to display and share images of their pets or travels. Or to set off that new paint or tile job, have a shower curtain made with just the right accent colors.

Our imaging process does not change the feel of the fabric. Plus, the images are virtually permanent, so all our curtains can be machine washed and dried without shrinking or fading.

How do I order?

There are three ways to order: online, by mail and by phone. To order online or by phone, you must pay with a credit or debit card.  If paying by check or money order you must order by mail. Here are specific instructions for each method:

ORDER ONLINE: Simply upload your image and complete billing, shipping and payment info. A section titled Order Notes is available for you to specify cropping instructions, dimensions for custom orders,  shipping instructions, etc. We'll immediately email a receipt confirming your order.  About a week later we email a shipping notification. Please check your spam files if not found in your in box.

ORDER BY MAIL: Remember that a $10 per image charge applies to mail in orders. You may send your image on a disk or as an 8 x 10 print. Smaller prints will not work. Please keep the original and send a copy since we do not return disks or prints unless you include a postage paid self addressed photo or CD mailer. After receiving the order and processing your payment we will send a receipt with your order number. Orders paid by check or money order are delayed 1 week until funds clear.

ORDER BY PHONE: If you are paying with a credit or debit card and prefer not to use the website, we'll be happy to take your order over the phone @ 888-DOMYBATH (888-366-9228). A $10 charge will be added to phone orders. We will begin processing your order as soon as we receive your image(s).

How do I pay?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit or debit cards. Payment must be made in U.S. dollars. If paying by card, we will charge your card when we begin processing your order.

We also accept check and money orders payable to PhotoShowerCurtain.com. These orders are subject to a 1 week delay until funds clear. Returned items will be subject to a minimum fee of $25. Please do not send cash.

Custom Sizes & Bulk Pricing

We make custom size curtains to fit any space. Quantity discounts are available for 5 or more curtains. Simply email your size and quantity for a prompt quote.

Images

Will my image work?

High resolution images (minimum 2000 x 2000 pixels at 72 dpi) in clear focus with adequate contrast between subject and background will work best. Digital images taken at high resolution with a 3 megapixel or higher digital camera will almost always work. Choose a .jpg, .gif, .bmp, .tif, or .png file between 2 and 12 megabytes for best results.

PLEASE keep the curtain shape in mind when selecting an image to avoid cropping problems. Tub curtains are square, stall curtains are rectangular. We will crop your image so it fits the curtain but you should still keep the shape in mind when selecting an image.

Can I use any image?

No. Some photos will simply not make an acceptable curtain. Images off the web usually do not have adequate resolution. Photos that are blurred, foggy, cracked or miscolored will not work unless restored.  Images without adequate contrast between subject and background will not work. Prints smaller than 8 x 10 will not work.

Also, you must have the rights to reproduce the image you provide. Generally, if it is a photo you have taken, this will be the case. However, if it is a photo taken by a photographer or one that has been published you will need to include a release. We do not accept images of copyrighted material without a release. Neither do we accept images considered to be obscene, vulgar, hateful, an invasion of privacy, or otherwise objectionable. If you provide an image we are unable or unwilling to use, you will be notified. For more information see Terms and Conditions. Feel free to call or email us if you have questions.

Can you enhance my image?

A wide variety if image modifications are available from simple touch up to complete restoration. Here is a description of some common fixes. For any not listed, email us for pricing. To order these simply request them in Order Notes.

Touch-Up - Straighten, correct red eye, balance color, balance contrast and sharpen as needed. $10 for most images.

Remove Background - Remove background and isolate subject(s). Adequate contrast required. $20 for most images.

Add Text - Add up to 24 characters of text to your image. Our photo editors determine style and placement. $10 - Check your spelling carefully!

How do I send my image?

Upload it to the website, email it or mail it.  Uploading is best since emailing and mailing cost an extra $10 per image. Here are specific instructions for all options:

UPLOAD AN IMAGE : Click the browse button and locate a .jpg, .gif, .tif, .bmp or .png file for your curtain.  Choose a file between 2 and 12 megabytes for best results.

Once selected, click the Continue button to start the process. Please be patient - it may take a few moments. The page will automatically change once the upload is complete.

EMAIL AN IMAGE : Attach an image less than 15 MB to your email and send it to info at photoshowercurtain dot com. Include your order number or name so we know what order to use the image for. A $10 charge applies.

MAIL AN IMAGE : For $10 per image, CD's or prints can be mailed. Please include your name or order number with your images. Prints must be 8x10 on traditional photo paper. Smaller prints will not work. Inkjet or laser prints are not acceptable. Prints and CD's will not be returned unless you enclose a postage paid self addressed photo or CD mailer. We encourage you to keep the original and send a copy since we are not responsible for lost or damaged images.

What is resolution?

Resolution is a measure of image quality. Digital images are made up of thousands of tiny dots called pixels. The more pixels, the more detailed the image. Each digital image will be a specific number of pixels in width and height.

To find out the file size and dimensions of an image that is stored on your computer:

    1.    Open the file where the image is saved.

    2.    Place your cursor over the image icon, and right-click if you are using a PC or Ctrl-click if you are using a Mac.

    3.    Choose Properties.

    4.    Click the Details tab.

    5.    Scroll down to the:

            Image section -  To view the image dimensions.

            File section - To view the image file size.

Recommended Resolutions

The MINIMUM pixels required for creating a high quality standard size curtain is: 2000 x 2000 at 72 dpi.

This is a MINIMUM with no allowance for cropping. You must provide more than the minimum pixels if cropping is required. The more cropping is required, the more pixels we need. More pixels mean more detail but only up to a point. Doubling or tripling our minimums is OK but going beyond that is usually overkill and won't improve the end curtain. It will also create a huge file which will take longer to upload or won't upload at all. A 3-5 meg file will usually work for any of our curtains and this is what you'll get if you use a 3-7 megapixel digital camera on a high resolution setting.

What is cropping?

Cropping is changing the borders of an image to create a certain shape or to emphasize the subjects. We reserve the right to crop the images so that your curtain looks its best. Consequently, the image on your curtain may be slightly different than the one you submit. If you have specific cropping instructions please note them in Order Notes during checkout.

What fabrics are used?

Our curtains are printed on 100% polyester poplin.

How are curtains imaged?

Our curtains are printed using a sublimation process. This process "fuses" the image into the fabric to make a permanent, extremely durable, high detail image. The process does not change the feel of the fabric and the image will not fade, crack, or peel.

Will the curtain match my image?

Most people are amazed at the image and color quality of our curtains, but they won't match your image. You are viewing your image on a monitor or print. It will look different when viewed on fabric. Also, colors may vary. Generally colors will be true, but shades of color may vary from what you see in your image. Also, if we have to crop your image to fit the curtain, it will appear slightly different.

How do I clean it?

No worries! It's OK to get it dirty. Because our printing process makes the image an integral part of the curtain, all curtains can be machine laundered with no fading or shrinkage. Simply wash in cold water on gentle cycle and tumble dry on low heat.

Can I add text?

For an additional $10 fee, you can add text to any curtain. There is a maximum of 24 characters. Our photo editors will select style and positioning of text. Please check your spelling carefully. We are not responsible for your spelling errors, only for ours.

Shipping

How much does it cost?

We offer flat rate shipping regardless of quantity ordered. US orders within the 48 contiguous states are $9. Orders to Alaska and Hawaii are $20. Orders to Canada are $39. Other international orders are $49. The appropriate charge will be added based on your shipping destination.

How long does it take?

Standard curtains are shipped in 1 week and custom curtains in 2 weeks from receipt of an acceptable image or receipt of payment, whichever is later. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Actual time will depend upon curtain ordered and time of year. Almost all orders are produced in 1-2 weeks and ground shipping takes another few days depending on your location. If it needs to be there by a certain date, include a note in the Order Notes section during check out or contact us. We'll do our best to meet your needs. Upon shipment, you will receive an email notification with tracking info.

Is international shipping available?

Orders shipping to the following countries may be entered on the website. The appropriate shipping charge ($39 to Canada, $49 to all other international destinations) will be added to your invoice during check out based on the destination country. If you would like to ship your order elsewhere, please contact us.

We ship international orders via the United States Postal Service using Priority Mail International which take about 6-10 business days.

You will receive an email notification when we ship. Customs documents are included with your package. Any customs duties or fees that may be assessed are not included in the shipping fee and are your responsibility.

Do you ship to multiple addresses?

Yes, but only one shipping address can be entered during checkout.  If you would like us to ship to additional addresses, please indicate so in Order Notes.

Policies

Are your curtains guaranteed?

Yes. For life. If you are EVER dissatisfied with your curtain for any reason contact us and we will replace it or refund your money promptly.

What about personalization and shipping errors?

A personalization (text) error on our part is considered a defect in workmanship. Should this occur, contact us within 7 days and we will make it right. However, if the error is yours, correction will be at your expense.

Likewise, if a shipping error is ours, we will pay to redeliver or reroute to the correct address. If rerouting is required because of an error on your part, you will be charged. Be sure to provide a complete street address (no P.O. Boxes) with an accurate apartment or suite number if applicable.

What about returns?

No returns are accepted without previous authorization. Should you have a valid reason for returning the curtain, contact us within 7 days of receipt and we will issue a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number. This RMA number must appear on your package or it will be refused. The return carrier is at our discretion unless you are paying for return freight.

If an item is damaged in shipping, a claim must be made with the carrier. We will be glad to help with this. Please notify us and the carrier A.S.A.P. after receipt and retain the packaging.

 

Extra photos and collages

The website is designed to only accept one photo per curtain. However, there are many creative and attractive ways to use multiple images on a single curtain. If you or a friend are familiar with photo editing software, you can do it yourself and send us an image ready to reproduce. Or our editors can do it. Simply contact us for details and we'll be glad to help you create a masterpiece!
